Kyanite is one of the few stones that never need cleansing

• Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral, often occurring as long, striated bladed crystals that may be transparent or translucent with a pearly sheen.
• It is also a polymorph with two other minerals; andalusite and sillimanite. A polymorph is a mineral that shares the same chemistry with another mineral, but has a different crystal structure.
• CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Triclinic
• COLOURS: it may occur in white, gray, pink, yellow, and most recently discovered orange.
• Its name comes from the Greek work, kuanos or kyanos, meaning "deep blue," and was once commonly called Disthene, which means "two strengths."
• Also known as Rhaeticide and Cyanite.
• Its most identifiable feature is its anisotropism (the ability to cleave perfectly in two directions with two distinctly different hardnesses on the perpendicular axes.)
• HARDNESS: 4.5-7. kyanite can range from 4 to 4.5 on the measure of hardness but when cut perpendicularly, its hardness can range from 6 to 7 in the same crystal.
• Kyanite instantly aligns all the chakras and subtle bodies, clearing the pathways and meridians.
• Kyanite is particularly stimulating to the Throat and Third Eye Chakras, expanding communication and psychic awareness on all levels.

CRYSTAL CARE:

Aluminium silicates dissolve in water so please avoid water.

Kyanite is one of the few crystals that does not require cleansing  due to its exceptionally high vibration.

Although Kyanite may not need clearing/cleansing as often as most crystals, I suggest clearing your Kyanite as often as is needed, based on either

1. the amount of use it gets (how hard is your crystal working for you?)
2. the amount of energy that your crystal has been exposed to over a period of time.

When clearing your crystals ( moonlight, sunlight, sound or smudging), always make sure that your intent is clearly stated, so the crystal knows that it is being given some time off and needs to recharge itself. 

I highly recommend not to swim shower or bathe with it on.

Tarnishing can occur naturally, simply wipe gently with a jewellery cloth- no cleaning products please!
