Since ancient times  people have been burning incense as an offering to the gods, to protect against malignant energy as well as a deterrent to keep away insects. Incense burners have been found in the Indus Civilization (3300–1300 BCE) and incense residue in ancient egyptian tombs in El Mahasna. The earliest documented use of incense comes from the ancient Chinese, who employed incense composed of herbs and plant products (such as cassia, cinnamon, styrax, and sandalwood) as a component of numerous formalized ceremonial rites.

If you have been to see me at the markets  you have probably been ‘gifted’ with a sample of my favourite incense- “SPIRITUAL GUIDE”. Its one of those scents that even people who don’t like incense really love!

A Soft floral gentle scent that is not too stinky! I am offering you packets here online of what we call “hex boxes” a hexagonal shaped box containing a sealed packet of 20 sticks which measure approx  23cm.

TO USE:

Be sure to use them safely in order to minimize any fire hazards

simply light the end using a flame- once the incense has a glowing ember, gently blow out the flame and left the fragrant smoke drift through your sacred space. See my blog on Burning Incense for more details.

Never leave a burning incense stick unattended and please make sure to place on a safe heat proof surface, incense burner or in a pot plant.

Infrequent use of incense in a well-ventilated area should pose few problems. However, there can be serious health risks associated with constant use and inhalation of smoke from burning incense sticks. Long-term exposure to incense smoke may contribute to such problems as respiratory illnesses (e.g. asthma, breathing problems), headaches, cardiovascular harm and even lung cancer. If inhaled constantly, it is little different from smoking. Please use in a well ventilated room and keep away from curtains and pets.
